ANGELICA ROOT (Angelica) Bitter herb that is used to support digestive functions. Antispasmodic, for strong menstrual cramps with scanty flow; intestinal colic and poor digestion; stimulating expectorant for coughs. Not for use in pregnancy.
ARNICA FLOWER (Arnica montana) A first aid treatment for trauma bruises, contusions, sprains and inflammation. For External Use Only.
ASTRAGALAS (Astralagus membranceous) A traditional Chinese herb that strengthens the natural defense systems of the body, helps protect the liver from damage and aids in reducing the toxicity of pharmaceutical drug therapy.
ASHWAGANDA (Withania somnifera)
An adaptogenic tonic that promotes vitality, vigor and mental acuity. Traditionally used to tonify the libido. Not for use during pregnancy.
BAYBERRY (Myrica cerifera) Astringent, used to strengthen and tone mucus membranes such as in the sinuses, respiratory system, gums, vaginal tissues. Deters bleeding gums, sore throats, diarrhea, intestinal inflammation, and post partum hemorrhage.
BETH ROOT (Trillium erectum) Uterine tonic containing natural precursor of female sex hormones. Astringent, for excess menstrual flow, postpartum hemorrhage.
BILBERRY (Vaccinium myrtillus) Antioxidant herb that supports healthy eye function. Many people have seen improved vision and less night blindness.
BLACK COHOSH (Cimicifuga racemosa) Antispasmodic, used for muscle spasms and muscular tension, asthmatic constriction from wheezing, and menstrual cramping. It can help promotes menstrual flow; relieves hot flashes in menopausal women. Not for use in pregnancy.
BLACK HAW (Viburnum prunifolium) Very effective for menstrual cramping, prevents miscarriage and excessive flow at menopause.
BLACK WALNUT (Juglans nigra) Antifungal, (for Candida, athlete's foot, ringworm. etc.); astringent, used for skin eruptions; vermifuge in larger doses. Breaks down cystic tissue.
BLADDERWRACK (Fucus vesiculosus) Thyroid stimulator, specific in treating obesity associated with under active thyroid.
BLESSED THISTLE (Cuicus bcncdictus) Helps to increases lactation taken in tea or in the extract form. Many mix it with Fenugreek to optimize benefits. Both of these herbs are safe for babies.
BLOOD ROOT (Sanguinaria Canadensis) This expectorant and antispasmodic herb helps clear lung congestion in bronchitis and other chronic lung conditions. It also has been shown to reduce plaque and to improve the health of the gums. Not for use in pregnancy.
BLUEBERRY LEAF(Vaccinium angustifolium) The leaf of this antioxidant rich fruit promotes healthy blood sugar balance.
BLUE COHOSH (Caulophyllum thalictroides) A uterine tonic that helps promote the menstrual flow. Not for use in pregnancy. If using to induce labor, do so with the guidance of an experienced practitioner.
BUCHU (Agathosma betulina) Urinary antiseptic for gravel and inflammation of the bladder, cystitis, prostatitis, urethritis, painful and burning urination. Not for use in pregnancy.
BURDOCK ROOT (Arcticum lappa) This inulin-rich herb promotes healthy liver function. A gentle yet effective herb for bringing the body back into balance. As an anti-microbial it is used for skin eruptions and a variety of skin conditions. Its bitter quality stimulates digestion and helps balance blood sugar.
BURDOCK SEED (Arcticum lappa) Similar in action to Burdock root, the seed increases urination and tonifies the kidneys. It is used by pregnant woman as a safe diuretic that help allay toxemia. Useful for swelling in the legs, feet, and hands.
BUTTERBUR (Petasites hybridus) Traditionally been used to relaxes muscles, asthmatic constriction, relieves painful menses. For External Use Only.
CALENDULA (Calendula officinals) Calendula has effective antifungal properties when taken internally. Flowers are lutein-rich, a carotinoid that promotes healthy eye function. Women have used it for delayed, painful, and excessive menstruation. Gentle, yet effective antimicrobial and vulnerary herb used topically for wounds, ulcers, burns, abscesses. Often found in children’s products for topical use.
CASCARA SAGRADA (Rhamnus purshiana)
Traditionally been used as a laxative and mild liver stimulant. Its bitter qualities act as a digestive tonic. Not for use in pregnancy.
CATNIP (Nepeta cataria) An antispasmodic and cooling herb for the digestive system used to used to ease indigestion, flatulence and colic; mild astringent, specific for childhood diarrhea. Not for use in pregnancy.
CAT'S CLAW (Uncaria tomentosa) Strengthens the G.I. System, especially good for sufferers of Crohn's Disease, IBS, Gastritis, and leaky gut syndrome. In its native Peru, it historically has been used for cancers. Known to reduce side effects of chemotherapy. Also good for skin problems and arthritis.
CAYENNE (Capsicum frutescens) Equalizes circulation; for cold hands and feet; strengthens heart; stimulant; carminative; styptic. Antiseptic, used as gargle for persistent cough.
CEANOTHUS (Ceanothus americanus) Lymphatic remedy. Used for tonsillitis, sore throat, enlarged lymph nodes and spleen, fibrous cysts. Mild expectorant, hemostatic.
CELANDINE (Chelidonium majus) Stimulates liver and gallbladder secretions and drainage. It is an antispasmodic for the gallbladder and gastrointestinal tract. Not for use in pregnancy.
CHAMOMILE (Matricaria chamomilla) Sedative, carminative, antispasmodic, anodyne. Children's herb, especially for fever and restlessness. Mouthwash for gingivitis.
CHAPARRAL (Larrea mexicans) Blood cleanser, antioxidant; antibiotic; antiviral; antiseptic; specific for infections, sluggish liver, skin problems, arthritis, tumors. Do not use if you have a history of liver disease.
CHASTE TREE BERRY (Vitex agnus-castus) Stimulates and normalizes pituitary function which can help to balance hormones such as progesterone. For PMS, menstrual cramps, menopause, post birth control pill rebalancing. Not for use in pregnancy.
CINNAMON (Cinnamomum spp) An aromatic carminative used to promote peripheral circulation and beautify skin. Helps to reduce cholesterol and balances blood sugar.
CLEAVERS (Galium spp.) A cooling lymphatic tonic; alterative; diuretic. Aids in weight loss by helping to cleanse lymph glands, reduce fluid retention, and strengthening digestion. Used for swollen glands, cystitis, ulcers and tumors, skin disorders, painful urination.
COMFREY (Symphytuni officinalis) Soothes inflamed skin and speeds wound healing. (Do not apply to deep wounds.) Also make be applied topically to varicose ulcers, fractures and broken bones to encourage healing. For external use only. Not for use in pregnancy.
CORN SILK (Zea maya) Soothing diuretic, for renal & urinary irritation. It soothes and supports the health of the bladder and urethra during urinary tract infections. Corn Silk is used for bedwetting, cystitis, and inflammation of the prostate.
CRAMP BARK (Vlburnum opulus) Relaxes muscle tension and spasms, soothes ovarian pain and uterine cramps. Used to prevent threatened miscarriage.

FENNEL (Foeniculum vulgare) Aids digestion; relieves flatulence and colic; expels mucous; increases lactation; aids weight loss; flavoring agent; increases digestibility of other herbs.
FENUGREEK (Trigonella foenum-graecum) Soothes a disturbed digestion and strongly promotes lactation in nursing mothers. Not for use in pregnancy.
FEVERFEW (Tanacetum parthealum) Anti-inflammatory, promotes migraine headache relief (long term basis), used for rheumatoid arthritis, asthma and bronchitis. Helps to break fevers, especially good for children. Not for use in pregnancy.
FO-TI (Polygonum multiflorum) An herb that has long been used in China to deter the graying of hair and to promote healthy hormone balance. Flavonoid-rich herb that strengthens and tonifies the kidney. A scalp and hair tonic.
GENTIAN (Gentiana lutea) Bitter, promotes production of gastric juices and bile. For sluggish digestion, dyspepsia and flatulence. Restores appetite lost during morning sickness.
GINGER (Asarum canadense) Used for nausea, motion sickness; diaphoretic, helps break fevers; stimulant; carminative; aids in utilization of other herbs.
GINKGO (Ginkgo biloba) Stimulates cerebral circulation and oxygenation, promotes mental clarity and alertness, improves memory. Can be useful for depressed states,Season Affective Disorder, and to prevent strokes.
GINSENG (Panax quinquefolium) This is the American from of ginseng which is balancing to all body functions. Adaptogenic, decreases the effect of stress. Increases capillary circulation in brain; reproductive tonic; anti-depressant; equalizes blood pressure. Used for general exhaustion and weakness; aids digestion. Promotes longevity. Not for use in pregnancy.
GOLDENROD (Solidago canadensis) Anti- inflammatory, urinary antiseptic, and diuretic for prostate conditions such as BPH, cystitis, and urethritis..
GOLDENSEAL (Hydrastis canadensis) Traditionally this herb has been used to eliminate infections both internally and externally. Internally it strengthens mucus membranes making tissues less susceptible to infection. It is used as an eyewash and mouthwash to flush out infection and bacteria. We prefer to use organically grown Golden Seal. Since it is a popular herb it has been over harvested in the wild. Also used for sore throat, gastritis, ulceration and colitis. An infusion used as douche for vaginitis. Not for use in pregnancy.
GOTU KOLA (Hydrocotyle aslatica) Used to increase mental stamina, alleviate depression and anxiety, improve memory & promote longevity. Increases energy and endurance. Helps heal connective tissue tears. Not for use in pregnancy.
GRINDELIA (Grindelia spp.) An effective expectorant especially useful for thick hard to get rid of congestion associated with chronic bronchitis, asthma, and emphysema. Topically it is very effective to relieve the itching of poison oak and insect bites.
GUARANA (Paullinia cupana) Adrenal tonic and mood enhancer that contains a constituent similar to caffeine. Not for use in pregnancy.
HAWTHORN BERRY (Crataegus oxycantha) Heart and circulatory tonic. Used for heart weakness, palpitations, high blood pressure, arteriosclerosis, angina pectoris. Also useful as a heart tonic for an asthmatic who uses emergency care inhalers.
HOPS (Humulus lupus) Helps to promote a restful, deep sleep. Sedative; hypnotic. Reduces nervous irritability and tension.
HORSECHESTNUT (Aesculus hippocastanum) Reduces vascular fragility and moderates inflammatory swelling. Helpful for varicose veins, spider veins, and hemorrhoids. Not for use in pregnancy.
HORSERADISH (Cochicaria armoracia) Stimulating aromatic herb that opens the sinus passages and encourages better circulation; for flu, fevers, sinus and respiratory congestion. Promotes salivation, helps expel gas from the gastrointestinal tract.
HORSETAIL (Equisetum spp.) High in silica and calcium, strengthens hair, skin and nails. Slight diuretic. Helps correct bedwetting in children.
JAMAICAN DOGWOOD (Piscidia erythrina) Sedative; anodyne; smooth muscle antispasmodic. For insomnia, neuralgia, menstrual cramping. Relieves coughing, reduces fevers.
JUNIPER BERRY (Juniperus spp.) Urinary tract antiseptic, used for cystitis and inflammation of the urethra. Should not be used in kidney inflammation or chronic kidney weakness. Not for use in pregnancy.
KAVA KAVA (Piper methysticum) Promotes a state of happy unconcern, promotes mental focus and stress reduction. Reduces anxiety. Not for use in pregnancy.

LEMON BALM (Melissa officinalis) A versatile herb that is best used as a calming fever reducer and gassy conditions. Has antiviral properties and is often used to treat infections. Because of its gentle properties and pleasing flavor it is quite suitable for children.
LICORICE (Glycyrrhiza glabra) Specific for adrenal gland insufficiency; a soothing expectorant for coughs and respiratory congestion; anti-inflammatory. Not for use in pregnancy.
LOBELIA (Lobelia Inflata) Respiratory stimulant; anti-asthmatic; Used for bronchitis and bronchitic asthma, whooping cough, muscular cramping and pain. Can cause vomiting in large doses. Not for use in pregnancy.

MACA (Lepidium meyenii) Native to the high plateaus of Peru, Maca tonifies the entire glandular system and enhances libido and stamina.
MARSHMALLOW (Althaea officinalis) Soothes mucosal membranes, used for gastrointestinal inflammation, respiratory congestion and bronchitis. Used externally as a poultice for mastitis and skin ulcers.

NETTLES (Urtica diocia) A nutritive herb that is rich vitamins, minerals, and chlorophyll. Good for anemia. Helps promote production of breast milk in nursing mothers. In freeze-dried capsule form it works as a safe and effective anti-histamine for hay fever and allergies.
OATS (Avena sativa) Oats soothes and supports nervous system, helps with adrenal fatigue or exhaustion, depression, insomnia and nervous exhaustion. Helpful to alleviate irritability while in the detoxification process of drugs. Oats are mineral rich and help promote healthy skin.

OREGON GRAPE (Berberis spp.) A berberine-rich root, native to the Pacific Northwest, Oregon Grape is an anti-microbial herb that is also a liver and blood cleanser. Its bitter quality helps to stimulate digestion and absorption. Great for inflammatory conditions of the skin like eczema and psoriasis. Good substitute for Goldenseal. Not for use in pregnancy.
OSHA (Ligusticum porterli) A strong antiviral and antimicrobial, useful for acute bronchial infection, colds, flu, and herpes. Stimulate lung activity to expel congestion. Boosts the immune system. Not for use in pregnancy.
PASSIONFLOWER (Passiflora incarnata) A relaxing, antispasmodic pain reliever that helps promote a restful sleep. Useful for insomnia that manifests as waking up in the middle of the night and not being able to get back to sleep. Not for use in pregnancy.

PIPSISSEWA (Chimaphila umbelata) A diuretic and urinary tract disinfectant useful in cystitis and other infections and congestion of the genito-urinary system.
PLANTAIN (Plantago spp.) A soothing expectorant for coughs and bronchitis. Its soothing astringent properties make it a good herb for inflammation of the mucous membrane of the gastrointestinal tract. Topically, it heals wounds and inflammatory skin conditions.
PLEURISY (Asclepias tuberosa) Reduces inflammation and encourages expectoration in respiratory infections such as bronchitis, pleurisy, pneumonia and flu. It is also an antispasmodic for coughs and helps regulate the body temperature during fevers.
POKE ROOT (Phytolacca spp.) Cleanses and moves the lymphatic system, for tonsillitis, mumps, laryngitis, swollen glands and mastitis. Specific when there is slow recovery time of acute conditions of the mouth, throat, and groin. Caution: Small dosages are recommended as large doses could cause diarrhea. Not for use in pregnancy.
PRICKLY ASH (Zanthomxylum americanum) Stimulates peripheral circulation, helpful for cold hands and feet, and for Raynaud's disease. Has a stimulating effect on the lymphatic and digestive system. Not for use in pregnancy.
PROPOLIS (Resina propoli) A strong antiseptic and antibacterial useful for mouth and gum conditions, sore throats and colds. Its waxy nature makes it useful for coating and isolating areas of throat inflammation to prevent spread of infection.
RED CLOVER (Trifolium pratense) A blood cleansing and nutritive herb useful in inflammatory skin conditions in children and adults. An expectorant and antispasmodic helpful in treating coughs and bronchial infections. Red Clover is also helpful in cases of infertility, menopause and some cancers.
RED RASPBERRY (Rhubus idaeus) A safe pregnancy herb that is rich in vitamins and minerals. It relieves nausea and tonifies the uterus, easing painful menses and readying the uterus for childbirth. Its astringent properties make it a great remedy for diarrhea, sore throat and bleeding gums.
RHUBARB (Rheum palmatum) An cleansing herb that in small doses helps to relieve diarrhea, and in larger doses works as a laxative. Not for use in pregnancy.
SARSAPARILLA (Smilax ornata) A balancing herb that is excellent for spring cleaning. Useful in cases of arthritis, especially rheumatoid, and is also used for irritated and inflammatory skin conditions. Not for use in pregnancy.
SASSAFRAS (Sassafras albidum) A "Spring Tonic" or blood purifier to stimulate elimination of waste by the kidney, liver and skin.
SAW PALMETTO (Serenos repens) Tones and strengthens male reproductive system, used for prostate enlargement and infection. Also enhances endurance and stamina.
SCHIZANDRA (Schizandra chinensis) A Chinese herb traditionally used to cool a fever and relieve sore throats.
SHEEP SORREL (Rumex acetosella) Protects against damage from chemotherapy and radiation and helps astringe diarrhea. A part of the traditional Essiac formula.
SHEPHERD'S PURSE (C. Bursa-pastoris) Helps stop passive uterine or gastrointestinal bleeding. Not for use in pregnancy.
SKULLCAP (Scuteliaria laterifolla) A soothing herb useful in times of stress and insomnia. Quiets the mind if mental chatter is causing insomnia. Helpful in the withdrawal from substance abuse.
SLIPPERY ELM (Ulmus fulva) A nutrient rich herb that has a special affinity for soothing inflamed membranes. It soothes a dry. irritated cough, and coats a sore throat. Useful for ulcerative conditions, heartburn and other inflammatory issues of the entire digestive tract.
SPILANTHES (Spilanthes oleracea) An anti-fungal and anti-bacterial herb useful in treating Candida. Spilanthes is also a powerful herb for oral and dental issues and helps relieve painful toothaches. Not for use in pregnancy.
SQUAW VINE (Mitchella repens) Tonifies the uterus and helps promote an easy labor. Helps to ease cramping and relaxes the nervous system. Not for use in pregnancy until it is time for labor.
ST. JOHN'S WORT (Hypericum perf.) A popular and effective flavenoid-rich herb for mild to moderate depression, irritability, and grouchiness. St. John’s Wort also acts on the nervous system, soothing and relieving pain in issues ranging from stress to sciatica. Can be taken internally as well as used topically for traumatized tissues and deters cuperose.
STONE ROOT (Collinsonia canadensis) Strengthens the structure and function of veins, useful for varicose veins and hemorrhoids. Helps prevent and dissolve urinary stones and gravel. Not for use in pregnancy.
THUJA (Thuja spp.) Thuja is native to the Pacific Northwest and is a Cedar species. An antimicrobial herb useful in Candida and other fungal overgrowth. Not for use in pregnancy.
TURMERIC (Curcuma longa) Used as a spice in Indian cooking for thousands of years, modern research has shown Turmeric to be a strong anti-inflammatory for heart disease, muscles, liver and digestive issues. Not for use in pregnancy
USNEA LICHEN (Usuca .spp.) A strong antimicrobial and antiviral useful for a broad range of infections. Not for use in pregnancy.
UVA URSI (Arcostaphylos uva-ursi) A strong urinary antiseptic, Uva Ursi is a commonly used as an anti-microbial in cases of bladder infections and cystitis.
VALERIAN (Valeriana officinalis) Valerian is a nervine and muscle relaxant, used for tension, anxiety, insomnia, emotional stress, menstrual cramps, migraine headache and rheumatic pain.
WHITE WILLOW (Salix alba) This astringent and pain relieving herb contains salicin (an aspirin like constituent) which help reduce inflammation. Used for headache, neuralgia, fevers, arthritis and rheumatism.
WILD INDIGO (Baptisia tinctoria) A lymph cleanser and antimicrobial herb helpful for focused local infection such as sinus infections, sore throat, laryngitis, tonsillitis. Best used in small amounts in formulas. Caution: Large doses may be toxic. Not for use in pregnancy.
WILD YAM (Dioscorea spp.) Wild yam relieves inflammation in cases of arthritis and other painful conditions. It also soothes diverticulitis and intestinal colic. Wild yam contains progesterone precursors.
WITCH HAZEL (Hamamelis virginiana) An astringent herb used for bleeding, hemorrhoids, varicose veins, bruising and swelling. Can be used internally or externally. Not for use in pregnancy.
YARROW (Achilles millefolium) Balances the body’s temperature and helps reduce fevers. Also works as a circulatory stimulant. Not for use in pregnancy.
YELLOW DOCK (Rumex crispus) An iron rich blood cleanser, useful for anemia and chronic skin disorders. A gentle laxative that aids in digestion and relieves constipation by stimulating peristalsis and the gallbladder.
YERBA MANSA (Anemopsis calif.) Yerba Mansa soothes and astringes mucus membranes and acts as a powerful antimicrobial and anti-inflammatory. Useful in chronic and acute sinus infection, swollen gums and sore throat and other conditions associated with mucous congestion and inflammation. Helpful in reducing the uric acid buildup in joints, relieving arthritic and gout pain.
